Full Time Engagement
It is fantastic to know you can spend as much time to Voice Over as possible.
Yet my commitment needs to be focused and dedicated.
Any new path takes time to settle-in and become more-or-less comfortable.
But change is good. Believe it will be, and it will be. I have embraced that, and the energy and excitement of what I am doing in that change is amazing.
I have a studio here at my home. It is called the STUDIO, but I don’t have a
On-Air neon sign telling anyone outside the door, don’t’ Come In!
It’s outfitted with several audio recording stations. Mics are Sennheiser MK4, for directed and recording sessions, and the NT1 from RODE, I have at my desk by my main computer, a Mac Book Pro 3M, and a kick-ass way to connect 3 monster screens I have. I feel like a stockbroker, but without the stockbroker.
I use Adobe Audition for all recordings and editing. I must put in a disclaimer. I have been collecting all these computer components over many years in the software business. Regardless of that, if you don’t know how to use these devices, your F-ED!
Adobe Audition is not too bad to learn. However, for those with little prior knowledge of the Audio and Film Industries it can be a bit intimidating. I find the Adobe software to be easy to learn, but with the needed help of training books like Audition Classroom in a Book.
I have been working and auditioning for over a year, and I know among the disappointing no-hires notices, there is deep knowledge that this will succeed.
It just takes time, patience, and the fortitude to keep working toward that Full Time Engagement!
See you soon.
