As you know from my website, I am a voice over actor, but there are several other interests and hobbies I have enjoyed over the years. First, I am a pro photographer and enjoy landscape and portrait photography. When I say portrait, I mean photographing people of all kinds in normal day-to-day situations they find themselves in.
I am also a collector of analog watches that I buy and sell on eBay from time-to-time. I believe my collection has about 25 watches currently with brands such as Breitling, Tag Heuer, Omega, and Tissot. I have always had a fascination with time, and as it is in our day-to-day life a linear progression, slowing or even stopping time has yet to be discovered. Physicists have postulated that time can be bent, warped, and even accelerated, but not slowed, at least not that I have learned yet.
I also have a fascination with Cross gold-filled rollerball pens. I write a lot of notes in my work in VO, I find that comforting and helpful for review. But to write with a rollerball Cross pen is a feeling that can’t be described well. It may be the smoothness of the flow of the ink. It may be the feel of the pen as it glides over the paper, or it may simply be the enjoyment of writing in cursive, a lost art these days.
Lastly, I am a huge movie buff. I love watching good movies several times, even though my better half hates me doing that. I have a collection of hundreds for DVD’s, which I am sure will be obsolete in time. But heck, I can enjoy them while I can.
So, there is more to Dwight than DwightsVoices, as I am certain this is true of you. Knowing more about me and what I enjoy beyond VO, I think is important for casting directors and technicians to know.
We will talk soon.
