My Process For Voice Over Services
Planning: First to get you started, a meeting takes place via phone, MS Teams, or Zoom. Here we discuss your project in detail. We will review your copy for the Voice Over Actor, and the type of tone and pace needed for the project. This provides us with a base understanding of what you are looking for. Next, we review your copy in detail to fully understand and visualize the copy, as well as the audience we are speaking to. Once we have all this completed, we will provide you with a firm quote on the cost of the job.
Recording: The next phase of a project once we have our planning stage completed, is to setup a day and time to begin the project, and discuss needed completion date. The actual recording of the copy can be done by me alone in my home studio, and then provide you with a sample MP3 file to confirm the tone, emotion, and pace. Based on confirmation of this initial sample, the final copy will be completed and then finished in a file format of your choosing.
We may also conduct a live directed session if you prefer, where we meet via Teams, Zoom, or another program of your choice. Here we work together on the recording process to arrive at a final file of the project. Directed sessions are more involved, but provides us with a strong bond during the recording process to understand and change either copy or the voice over itself, all done on the fly. Please see my studio setup and Best Equipment under Why Choose Dwight on my voice over website for more details of the capabilities of my home studio.
Project Completion: Here we setup a final call on Teams or Zoom to review the final product and based on this, we either edit where needed, or finalize the final file format needed and complete the payment process before sending the final file. I can email smaller content files, or I can load on a third-party transfer program.
The last thing I require as your voice over actor is a review of the work we have done, and the resulting approval of the project by you, and finally how we worked together to make your project come alive!
Frequently Asked Questions about Dwights Voice Over Services
How do I get a quotation for my project?
Answer: The best way is to setup a call to discuss your project and review the copy you want in your voice over. Based on this process I will be able to provide you with a firm estimate to complete your project. If there are changes made along the way to the copy, there may be an additional charge of $25 for corrections made or added to the copy. Any mistakes, or re-takes will be completed at no charge.
How long does it take to work on one project?
Answer: In most cases a project with little copy can be completed in an hour. A script with medium length will most likely take 1 -2 hours to complete.
For longer copy like Audio Books we can be looking at hours and possibly days.
What is the average cost for one project?
Answer: This will depend again on the length of the job. Most short copy voice over jobs can run $100 to $249 per project. Medium projects will run between $250 and $499.
